What’s it like in Guanajuato?

Guanajuato is truly one of the most beautiful cities I have ever been to in my life, and I’m not exaggerating! The colorful houses encaved throughout the mountains gives you a true one of a kind view that I still dream about from time to time. I absolutely loved my experience here, because the city feels very vibrant, youthful, energizing and historical.

Also if you’re wondering if Guanajuato is safe, I would say that I felt very safe while in the capital of Guanajuato. It is mainly a college town where a lot of young college kids are studying. Always use precaution and follow your intuition while traveling but I would say in general Guanajuato, Guanajuato is a very safe and wonderful city.

Why did I go?

I was fortunate enough to hear about one of their worldwide famous festivals called Festival Cervantino. Since I was in Guadalajara at the time, and Guajuato wasn’t far away, I decided to go out for a few days to experience this event in person. This festival got its name from the
inspiration of Miguel De Cervantes, the author of a famous book of literature called, Don Quijote. The professor at the University of Guanajuato named Enrique Ruelas, who started the festival, would gather his students in the city plaza to perform short plays of Cervantes stories. At the start of this annual fall event in 1953, it started gaining more and more popularity and with government funding and help from tourism, this event has turned into a world famous event.

What to do?

Progreso is perfectly located around many historical and beautiful cities and landmarks. While visiting you should definitely check out these places:

Located just blocks away from the town of Progreso, Chicxulub, is the place where a meteorwas believed to have hit approximately 65-66 million years ago that led to the extinction of 75% of life on earth including the dinosaurs. You can visit the museum located in Progreso called Museo del Meteorito, Gran Museo Del Mundo Maya.

Where to stay?

While there I stayed at Hostal Casa de Dante. It was a very clean, comfortable and beautiful place to stay as it had a lot of art on the walls, very well centered in the city and beautiful views from the room and balcony. For the price I paid per night (about $480 pesos at the time) it also felt like a really good deal since I had my own private room and fresh breakfast was included every day which was very tasty and super fresh. The owner of the hostel is a local from the area and provided me with a lot of great recommendations and tips during my stay so I would highly recommend checking them out if you’re in town.

Discovering Progreso and Merida, A Journey to Mexico’s Heart

Mexico holds a very special place in my heart because it was a journey that birthed many new beginnings for me. After months of hearing this ringing message that I first heard while meditating in my room saying, “Your heart is in Mexico” I finally decided to cave in. After I decided to open up and listen to what my heart had been trying to tell me, I asked, what part of Mexico is my heart in? I intuitively gathered that it would be a city with the name beginning with P in the Yucatan peninsula region. So, I opened up my map and instantly found where my heart was leading me, Progreso.

Why is Progreso, a lesser-known beach town in Mexico, worth exploring before it becomes more popular?

Progreso is a really beautiful, small, and laid back beach town that has a really charming energy to it. As it has the longest pier in the world named Puerto Progreso, it can get very busy and touristy when the cruise ships come in. Though it isn’t as popular as other famous beach destinations like Cancun or Tulum, when the coast is clear from the swarm of tourists, it is a very tranquil and loving place. With the new developments and construction going on, I’d highly recommend exploring this lovely town before it becomes well known. I stayed there for a period of 4 days and I’d like to share some things that I did..

The Power of Recycling in Creating a Sustainable Reality

Embrace Self-Sufficiency

In our quest to craft a reality that aligns with our values and aspirations, self-sufficiency stands as a cornerstone. One of the most impactful ways to embody this principle is through recycling. Not only does recycling reduce waste and conserve resources, but it also empowers us to take charge of our environmental footprint and foster a more sustainable world

The Self-Sufficient Recycler’s Mindset

Adopting a self-sufficient approach to recycling means more than just sorting your waste. It involves a holistic mindset that views recycling as a proactive way to manage resources, create less waste, and build a more sustainable lifestyle. Here’s how you can cultivate this mindset:

  1. Understanding Waste Streams: Begin by educating yourself about the different types of waste and how they can be recycled. From plastics to metals, paper, and organic materials, each type has its own recycling process and benefits.
  2. Setting Up a Home Recycling System: Establish a recycling system at home that makes it easy to separate and manage different materials. Use clearly labeled bins for paper, glass, plastics, and metals. Make sure to rinse containers and remove any
contaminants to ensure they are recyclable.
  3. Repurposing and Upcycling: Extend your recycling efforts beyond the curbside bin. Repurpose items before they reach the recycling stage. For example, old jars can become storage containers, and worn-out clothes can be transformed into cleaning rags. Upcycling not only reduces waste but also adds a personal touch to your creative projects.

Benefits of a Self-Sufficient Recycling Approach

  1. Resource Conservation: Recycling conserves raw materials and reduces the need for new resources. This minimizes the environmental impact associated with extracting, processing, and transporting raw materials.
  2. Energy Efficiency: Recycling often requires less energy compared to producing new products from raw materials. For instance, recycling aluminum saves up to 95% of the energy needed to create new aluminum from ore.
  3. Economic Impact: Recycling supports local economies by creating jobs in sorting, processing, and selling recyclable materials. It also reduces the costs associated with waste disposal.
  4. Environmental Preservation: By reducing the amount of waste that ends up in landfills and incinerators, recycling helps to minimize pollution and conserve natural habitats.

Tips for Enhancing Your Recycling Efforts

  •  Stay Informed: Recycling guidelines can vary by location. Check with your local waste management facility to understand what can and cannot be recycled in your area.
  •  Educate Others: Share your knowledge and enthusiasm for recycling with friends and family. The more people who embrace recycling, the greater the collective impact.
  •  Get Creative: Explore creative ways to integrate recycling into your daily life. For example, use recycled materials in DIY projects or create art from discarded items.

Conclusion:

By embracing a self-sufficient approach to recycling, you contribute to a more sustainable reality where waste is minimized, resources are conserved, and the environment is preserved. Recycling is not just an individual action but a collective movement toward a better future. Start today, and see how your efforts can ripple out, creating a more mindful and eco-friendly world.

Manifest Your Ideal Reality with Love and Gratitude.

At those times, where we catch ourselves at a crossroads in life questioning what path we will take, we may look outwardly at the options we are presented with. On these roads that seemingly lead in different directions, what will you do? Where will you go? What is the right choice?

How can I shift my focus to love and create a higher vibrational state when facing life’s challenges?

All these questions may initially come up, and that’s ok. It’s a part of our human survival nature to try to make sense and respond rapidly to the challenges we face. Yet, at this moment, it’s vital to not let your environment dictate your state of being. When you find yourself questioning what you should do, first, take a second to breathe and reconnect with your life force energy. While you are reconnecting with the essence of the beautiful abundance of life that you are, allow yourself to rise out of those survival instincts and emotions. When you are worried, scared, anxious, doubtful, fearful, timid, or confused you are allowing yourself to operate at low vibrational states and giving them power over you.

Remember the supernatural powers that you have of being able to create your own reality. Your only problems are problems that you make up in your mind. Rise above by focusing your energy on a state that resonates higher than the survival emotions, (you can focus your energy on your heart chakra) shift your focus on love. Feel it vividly. Let it consume your entire being to a state of blissful, vibrant energy that love carries. You can even set a timer ( 5-20 minutes) to allow yourself to be nurtured by the loving energy that you foster within.

Now that you are in a state of love, start bringing that love energy you are now carrying to your situation. In the reality of love, what are you loving? Here’s a few questions that you can ask your spirit. Whether your question is should I move abroad? Should I take this new job? Should I break up with my partner? Or should I start this business? Ask yourself this instead.

What do I love about my ideal new reality?
Who is in it?
What do I see, smell, taste, touch, do?

As you are involving all of your senses into creating this new lovely reality, I will introduce the method of feeling forward. This is inspiration from Dr. Joe Dispensa where you start to feel yourself feeling more in love with the experience you are creating. I like to call it, feeling forward because you are literally feeling yourself forward into the new reality you are creating.

What emotions are now within it? Peace, gratitude, bliss, freedom, courage?

Experience this new reality vividly, as if you are living it now. Picture yourself and your activities on a daily basis. If you started that new job/business , what would you joyfully do everyday? If you moved, what would your new environment look and feel like?

The illusion of choice can be very deceiving sometimes because the truth is, we already choose our reality. We just start to doubt and undermine our own inner knowing to try intellectualizing our decisions. Yet, we already know the answer within. Doing this exercise of feeling forward can literally catapult you within taking the decision that you already know within. Connect this practice with affirmations of affirming the reality you have created is true and real to you everyday (right before bed and upon rising).

Lastly, always finish with infinite love and gratitude for Spirit assisting with elevating your circumstances into working in your favor. Infinite love!
